After a hiatus of over a year, Shrine Comics is officially back! If you been a long-time Shrine Comics fan, thank you for your patience. If you are new to Shrine Comics, welcome! We are so happy to be back bringing you all the best manga we can find in the world, and now with our Premium initiative we are giving it to you faster than ever. Starting from day 1 on our relaunch, we already have quite a few Premium series for you to enjoy and we’ll only be adding more over time, so make sure to check back in often to discover something new! For the next two weeks our app will be in a BETA phase, so they may be some tiny issues here and there, if you spot any, please let us know. The best way to do that is by heading to our Discord or even just adding a comment under this post. There are many more exciting things to come to SHRINE COMICS, so we hope you stick around!!

As I sit here typing this, I'm filled with lots of emotion. Today marks the third-year anniversary of Shrine Comics. Those three years have felt like a lifetime, but at the same time, it's felt like no time has passed at all. If you had asked me three years ago where I think Shrine Comics would be, I would definitely say we would still be around. But I don't think I would have been able to guess what we've been able to achieve in these three years. I'm not going to list everything that we have achieved, because I think just opening up our app or going to our website will all speak for itself. I do, however, want to acknowledge all the people behind the scenes who make all of this possible. Because as much as it sometimes feels that I am doing everything myself, that’s just not the case. As of right now, there are 26 people who make up the Shrine Staff. These include our incredible manga creators who work tirelessly to bring you the best stories they can, our editorial and graphic design staff who work behind the scenes helping shape the future of Shrine, our incredible voice cast for Kotton and Fennel, and the co-founders JKSManga, DeAndre Moffett, and myself who make the big decisions. This number also doesn’t include the talented developers who have worked on our app and future updates that I am excited to share with all. SHRINE COMICS really is a team effort, and none of this could have ever happened if it weren’t for the wonderful people I have been lucky to surround myself with and who all believe in Shrine Comics' mission to “evolve the culture of manga”. This may shock some of you, but SHRINE COMICS isn’t a profitable company, at least not yet. But everyone who is a part of SHRINE COMICS believes in the mission. We want to make more opportunities for manga creators around the world regardless of race, gender identity, or disability. We want to bring people some of the best content they can find online. We want to set a precedent of a healthy work environment where creators don’t get hospitalized to meet crazy deadlines. We want SHRINE COMICS to be the premier publisher of manga content in the whole world. This year, our third year, we will continue to strive towards all those goals. There are some cool things we are seeing down the pipeline, some which will be more obvious to those reading and some which are just as important but may not be noticed. Thank you to all the SHRINE staff who made this all possible. I am indebted to you and will continue to work hard so that you get everything you deserve. Happy 3rd anniversary. SHRINE COMICS is thrilled to officially welcome PULSE MANGA into the Shrine Comics family. This exciting collaboration has been in the works for some time, as hinted at earlier this year when we licensed some Pulse titles to feature on our platform. We are delighted to see this vision come to fruition. Both Pulse and Shrine share a common dream of fostering a vibrant community around independent manga, and we believe that together, we can achieve this goal more effectively. As we embark on this new chapter, all Pulse series will now proudly bear the SHRINE COMICS brand. In the upcoming weeks, we will be progressively adding each Pulse series to our platform, aiming to complete this integration by the end of January. Additionally, the Pulse brand will undergo a transformation, with further details to be unveiled in a future announcement. This marks just the beginning of an exciting journey with SHRINE COMICS. Stay tuned for new and exhilarating developments as we work towards bringing you a plethora of fresh and innovative content!

SHRINE COMICS:  What's the name of your new SHRINE COMICS series, and could you give us a hint about what it's about? JKSManga:  The title is called "Return of the Legendary Ranked Dragon." It's one of those stories where, due to a great threat, people have unlocked powers, but the great threat no longer exists, and the people with powers do. These people are treated as heroes, celebrities, and so on. However, those who got rid of the threat in the past weren't those with powers; it was legendary dragons. And if you haven't guessed by the title, they return into the body of our main character. Is this linked to your System series, or is it something entirely new? This is a new story that's not linked to the System series in any way, but it is my second series about a dragon. SHRINE COMICS:  Who is doing the art? JKSManga:  A talented artist who goes by Mike Banting. He does art for quite a few series and also contributes to a series in SHRINE called "Hammer Head." SHRINE COMICS:  What was the inspiration behind this new series? JKSManga:  I've been reading a lot of the Korean-style portal series that do really well but wanted to give it more of a storyline-focused goal rather than following a lot of the characters' growth. SHRINE COMICS:  Is there anything else you can tease ahead of the launch? JKSManga:  There are some cool preview pages that give you an introduction to the first chapter. Additionally, in the future, there will be a novel available that can be read side by side with the work. SHRINE COMICS:  When can we start reading it? If you had told me just as we were about to launch Shrine Comics in Februray last year, that just over a year later we would be launching are very own app, I would have said you are crazy. But here we are. What we have been able to achieve in this past year since launching has been beyond what I could have ever imagined, and that is thanks to you and your excitement and support for what we are trying to achieve. That support and excitement has made our lineup go from the initial 6 series to now 15 ongoing series! And now we are launching an app! The most common question we've received since launching on Februray 21 last year (outside of "How can I join shrine?") has been if we had any plans to make an app. Answering that was easy, "Yes, we do!" as it was always something we wanted to do one day, but at the time I was thinkng maybe in 3-4 years. But as I thought more and more about it, I begun coming up with potential app designs. If we were to do an app, it would have to be unique and stand out from the crowd. It also had to be accessible, as we wanted as many people as possible to fall in love with the series we publish. And most importantly it had to be fun to use. Next thing I knew, I already had mocked up a working prototype of the app done in Adobe XD. So I pulled the trigger and commisioned some developers to develop the app for us. A couple of slides from the App design document. A few months later and now we have an app, and I couldn't be happier with how it has turned out. This is easily the best way to experience what Shrine Comics has to offer. It's slick, fun and filled with incredible content you can only expereince on the app! We are so glad that finally the public can get their hands on it and experience what Shrine Comics has to offer in the best way possible. So, where to now from here? Well, we plan to keep on supporting the app of course. We have lots of ideas on how we want it to grow and what new features we would like to add. But first we will be working on making the app as stable…
